The Installation Process
1.) Turf Removal & Dig-Out
Our installer will first remove your top layer of lawn or existing ground to the required depth, this will allow us to be able to have the correct depth needed, to provide a solid subbase to your new lawn.
2.) Industrial strength weed Membrane
Following on our fitters will lay and pin weed membrane across the required workspace to allow a solution for them nuisance weeds that will try and pop through to your new designer garden. This gives us a professional and reliable solution to keep them unwanted growths in your new garden. Ensuring a zero-maintenance makeover.
3. Treated Timber or PVC frame
This next stage of the Project is truly where the magic happens. Our competent installers fit our frame with incredible precision on a garden-to-garden basis, ensuring any falls in the ground, or possibly some bespoke shaping, of how you want your lawn to look are all covered. This is our template of how your new garden will come to life.
4. Type 1 MOT Subbase
(99% of jobs we will apply a stone subbase). This is compact using a professional whacker plate. This allows a structured base to your new garden, allowing a solid foundation with a drainage component. This allows us to make sure your new grass will have no waterlogged patches and will drain like any other lawn would directly into the ground. This is fundamentally why the structure of your new lawn will stay level, structured and in place for years to come.
5. Granite dust/ grit sand and levelling
Very similar to the complexity of putting in your frame, this is where the level of standard is shown from our installers. Every job will have a top layer of granite dust/grit sand, followed by levelling. Levelling your new garden is where you truly start to see the new finish to your garden. Our installers have all been professional trained to screed the area to the highest achievable level, as this is what can truly make or break your new lawn. Again, using a top layer of granite dust/grit sand will just add to your drainage system allowing that quicker more reliable drainage option.
6.) Grass Fit & Joining
The most exciting part of the project is our grass fit. This is where you will see our team, cut the grass to suit. Lay and fit ensuring any creases our pulled out (like laying a carpet) and pinned to the frame installed earlier. We will tidy up all edges of the garden ensuring you have that sharp, crisp look to your new lawn. Whilst creating that natural look we all desire.
And now your complete. Following on from this we will go over all your grass with our motorised brushing to make sure all your grass piles are standing tall and proud for the big reveal. We will allow a full clean up, ensuring the only change to your home is your incredible new lawn.
